Our Animals

Ashfield Farm is home to a variety of friendly farm animals. They enrich the various programs and community events we run here on the farm. They are cared for daily by our diligent farm team and volunteers!

Horses & Ponies

Ashfield is currently home to seven horses and three ponies. The horses participate in a variety of programs happening at the farm such as pony rides for camps and community events, birthday parties and in our live-action reenactment of the Christmas story called Bethlehem Live.

The horses will also partner with us to run our  future beginner riding lessons, public trail rides and therapy programs that are all currently in developing stages.

Rabbits

Everyone loves to cuddle a bunny! Our rabbits help us to run our petting zoos for camps and community programming. We currently have two female rabbits that are dwarf lionhead breed crosses and a male and a female that are rex x dwarf breed crosses. We sometimes have baby bunnies for sale. Email info@ashfieldfarm.ca for more information!

Chickens

The chickens are a big hit with programs and petting zoos! Children love to learn about caring for them and collecting eggs, plus they are very entertaining to watch! They also provide eggs for the people living at the Ashfield Farm house.

 Goats

The goats are the comedians of the farm! They are always up to mischief but they are oh-so-hilarious! Three goats currently reside at Ashfield.
They are used for community events and camps in the petting zoo. They are also very efficient lawnmowers and help to control weeds around the farm. Fun Fact: Goats are one of the only animals that can safely eat wild parsnip!
